What Candy AI actually is
Candy AI is an adults-only companion you use in a browser (and as an Android/PWA client). You pick or build a fictional partner, then chat. Paid accounts advertise unlimited text, 18+ image generation, short video, voice notes, and a “Live Action” surface that the vendor pushed through late 2025 and early 2026. The company behind it is EverAI Limited, Malta company C107181, listed at Central Business Centre, Triq Is-Soll, Santa Venera SVR 1833. The product launched in 2023. Card descriptors reported by users include EverAI and UPGATE.COM.
Two things this page will not do: pretend we are Candy AI, and pretend the annual “$3.99/mo” line is what a visual user actually pays. Text chat is the subscription. Pictures, clips, and calls are a second meter called tokens. That split is the whole review.
We triangulated first-party help-center copy (100 tokens on Premium; Premium Plus at 330 tokens as of 28 Aug 2026), the public subscriptions page as captured by multiple reviewers on 15–21 Jul 2026, and paid-account token measurements published in July 2026. Prices move. The checkout you see today is the authority; the numbers below are a 2026 snapshot, not a coupon.
Who it is for. People who want a custom adult character, a lot of text, and a handful of stills each month — and who will not rage-quit when the 101st image asks for a top-up.
Who it is not for. Anyone treating “uncensored” as “no rules,” anyone who needs end-to-end encrypted logs, or anyone whose main hobby is generating video. Video is the expensive hobby here.
Is Candy AI free?
Yes, in the same way a hotel lobby is free. You can walk in. You cannot live there. Independent 2026 tests of a new free account repeatedly recorded on the order of five text messages total (not five per day), a few sample images, and a couple of seconds of voice. Custom characters, uncensored media, and unlimited chat sit on Premium. If a Google snippet told you Candy AI is free, that snippet described the signup, not the product.
Use the free sample for one question only: does the writing style annoy you? If the first replies feel canned, paying will not magically turn them into a novelist. If they feel usable, then read the token table before you pick a term length.
Candy AI pricing in 2026
The live subscriptions page checked in mid-July 2026 listed one Premium feature set sold on three (sometimes five) term lengths. The three that matter:
| Plan | What you are billed | Monthly equivalent | Tokens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium monthly | $13.99 each month | $13.99 | 100 / month |
| Premium quarterly | $26.97 every 3 months | $8.99 | 100 / month |
| Premium annual | $47.88 once a year | $3.99 | 100 / month |
| Premium Plus | Higher tier; confirm at checkout | — | 330 / month (help center, 28 Aug 2026) |
Weekly and biweekly SKUs ($5.60 / $9.79) have appeared on the same page. Treat them as expensive drip billing, not a bargain. Every option we saw auto-renews. Cancel in Settings → Unsubscribe; access continues to the end of the paid window. Canceling does not wipe chats or leftover purchased tokens, according to EverAI’s help center (updated 25 Aug 2026). Deleting the account does.
Annual is the honest value if you already know you like the chat. Do not prepay twelve months to “try video.” Video is where people overspend.
The token meter: why $3.99 is not the bill
Premium includes unlimited text. It does not include unlimited media. Official help copy is blunt: once the monthly 100 tokens are gone, chat still works; images, video, voice, and some extras ask you to buy a pack. Pack sizes published around the same window: 100 tokens for $9.99, then 350 / $34.99, 550 / $49.99, 1,150 / $99.99, and larger packs up to 3,750 / $299.99.
EverAI does not print per-action rates on the marketing page. Paid testers who watched the balance in July 2026 reported a consistent ladder:
| Action | Tokens | What 100 tokens buy |
|---|---|---|
| Image, V1 engine | 2 | ~50 stills |
| Image, V2 engine | 4 | ~25 stills |
| In-chat contextual scene | 10 | ~10 stills |
| 10-second contextual video | 20 | ~5 clips |
| Voice note | 0.2 | Hundreds |
| Live voice call | 3 / minute | ~33 minutes |
Read that as a budget, not a dare. A user who chats daily and generates two V2 portraits a day stays inside the 100-token allotment. A user who wants a 10-second clip every evening is out of tokens by night five and onto a $9.99 pack. Independent cost write-ups that actually paid the bill in 2026 keep landing in a $25–$60 per month band for medium visual use, and higher if Live Action or long calls become a habit. That is the number to compare with Joi, Xotic, Lovescape, and FantasyGF — not the $3.99 headline.
Premium Plus’s 330-token allotment (help center, late August) is the first official admission that 100 was too thin for the features they keep shipping. If you already know you will generate, price Plus at checkout before you stack packs on vanilla Premium.
NSFW, refusals, and the word “uncensored”
Candy AI sells adult roleplay. Paid accounts in 2026 tests generated explicit stills and short explicit video. Characters generally stay in the lane you set (personality sliders, relationship type, sexual inclinations). That is the actual product, and it is why people search “candy ai nsfw.”
It is not a jailbroken local model. The vendor still publishes blocked-content rules. Anything involving minors, real-person deepfakes, or other banned classes is refused — and should be. “Uncensored” here means “willing to do adult fiction that mainstream chatbots will not,” not “no moderator and no policy.” If a competitor promises literally no filters, assume they are either lying or one policy change away from a shutdown.
Images, video, voice: what the pixels are like
Stills are the strong suit. The character builder is deep by category standards: body, hair, eyes, ethnicity, age band, outfits, voice tone, profession, and a stack of personality and sex-inclination picks. Two custom companions do not collapse into the same chatbot with different hair. Image consistency is good enough for a companion feed, not a fashion lookbook. Hands and jewelry still glitch. V2 is the spend if you care; V1 is the volume play.
Video is real and still a 2026-era clip, not a scene partner. Ten seconds at 20 tokens is the unit to remember. Live Action (launched December 2025, upgraded February 2026) is the differentiator Candy uses against text-only apps. It is also the feature that turns the token wallet into a hole. Voice notes are cheap (0.2 tokens) and more useful than the marketing implies: a lot of the “girlfriend” feeling is cadence, not a 4K still.
Memory is fine across a sitting and average across a month. Do not dump secrets into it. Candy’s privacy notice covers prompts, messages, calls, and outputs stored on company servers. There is no consumer E2EE story. Use a throwaway email.
Who should pay, and for how long
- Burn the five free messages. If the prose is wrong, leave.
- If the prose is right, buy one month at $13.99. Generate a handful of V2 stills. Do not touch video yet. Count remaining tokens on day 25.
- Only then consider quarterly or annual. Annual at $47.88 is cheap chat. It is not cheap cinema.
- If day 25 shows you still have 40+ tokens, you are a chat-first user and Candy is fairly priced. If you are already buying packs, look at Xotic (itemised XOT) or Joi (Dream Clips) before you renew.
Candy AI vs the alternatives we track
Full table lives on the Tested Companions hub. The short version for someone who landed on a Candy review:
| Product | Best for | Price ballpark | Uncensored | Media | Verdict vs Candy |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Candy AI | Custom adult companion, chat-first | $4–$14 sub; media extra | Adult yes, policy yes | Image, short video, voice | Baseline |
| Joi | Short AI video clips | ~$5–$18/mo effective | Adult yes | Dream Clips + images; calls expensive | Better clip toy, similar credit trap |
| Xotic | Published XOT price list, video models | $12.50–$24.99/mo + packs | Permissive, still blocked classes | FHD stills, 4K-class video, calls | Clearer rates, hungrier wallet |
| Lovescape | Anime/realistic + chip video | ~$6–$20/mo; 600 chips | NSFW mode on paid | Image ~9 chips, video ~90+ | Stronger clip pipeline, same meter logic |
| FantasyGF | Fantasy/custom, crypto checkout | $12.99 or $69.99/year | Adult default on paid | Stills cheap; kiss/hug clips spend tokens | Similar dual meter, more niche tone |
| LuckyCrush | Live 1:1 with a person | ~$1.10/min for men | Live adult, mixed trust | Real webcam, not AI | Different product. Do not compare as an AI girlfriend. |
Verdict
Candy AI is a legitimate, high-demand adult companion (the brand query alone is a quarter-million US searches a month). It is good at custom characters and paid chat. It is average at privacy. It is structurally designed so that the people who came for pictures will pay twice. If you go in as a chat user who sometimes wants a selfie, the annual plan is one of the cheaper seats in the category. If you go in as a video user, budget like a cam site, not like Netflix.

FAQ
A free account exists and is useful for a few messages. Unlimited chat, custom depth, and 18+ media require Premium. Plan on five sample messages, not a free hobby.
$13.99 month-to-month, or $8.99 effective on the $26.97 quarterly bill, or $3.99 effective on the $47.88 year. Tokens on top if you generate. US dollars; taxes and geo pricing can change the checkout.
The web app is globally reachable. EverAI is Maltese. Availability, VAT, and payment descriptors vary. Adult products can be restricted by card issuer or ISP; that is not something a review can guarantee by zip code.
